Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil announced yesterday , Monday, that the Ministry of Finance has disbursed 100 billion dinars to the affected people of the province .
Al-Dakhil said in a press conference that he “conducted a visit yesterday, Sunday, to the capital, Baghdad, and the results were positive, especially in the compensation file .”
Al-Dakhil added: “The Ministry of Finance has disbursed 100 billion dinars in one installment to Nineveh Governorate in order to compensate those affected by the terrorist and military operations that the governorate witnessed,” indicating that the disbursement came under the direction of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and Finance Minister Taif Sami .
He explained that the recently disbursed compensation amount will be allocated urgently to about 11,000 people affected by the military operations, noting that a number of people affected by western Nineveh, specifically from the Sinjar and Tal Afar districts, will be included in these amounts, pointing out that the governorate will begin distributing these amounts to the affected people after all their transactions have been completed by the sub- and central compensation committees, and the Nineveh Court of Appeal has approved them earlier .
Al-Dakhil pointed out that disbursing compensation to Nineveh’s victims is one of the acquired rights that the central and local authorities are responsible for providing to citizens, noting that the local government in Nineveh has included this file in its local government program and the provincial council voted on it, stressing that Nineveh has been subjected to great injustice in the compensation file during previous periods .
Al-Dakhil also announced the resumption of work on service effort projects in the city of Mosul, which had been halted during the past months due to lack of funding, indicating that the Ministry of Finance had allocated funds for those projects and that work would begin very soon on service effort projects in the areas surrounding Mosul, to which the Prime Minister had previously directed the provision of services.
