Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil and a group of benefactors from Mosul opened the Abbas Ibn Mirdas Mosque on Al-Najfi Street in Old Mosul .
Al-Dakhil said that the reconstruction of the mosque – which dates back about a thousand years – It was funded by donors from Mosul .
While he pointed out that the efforts of donors from the people of Mosul contribute greatly to restoring life to old Mosul, he stressed that the local government is contributing to the reconstruction of religious and archaeological sites in the old city in order to restore life to it.
