Independent MP Adnan Ashour revealed that there is a movement within the House of Representatives to amend some articles of the Iraqi state budget law, in order to enhance job stability .

Ashour said that Article 14 of the budget is one of the basic articles that contribute to providing job opportunities for graduates in ministries and state institutions, explaining that Article 14, secondly, of the budget law stipulates “stopping all appointments” in ministries, entities not affiliated with a ministry, and governorates .

He stressed that there are efforts to amend this article with the aim of enhancing job stability, especially for workers on contract and daily wages .

He added that amending the aforementioned article will provide a legal cover that allows the government to resume appointments for some essential categories needed by ministries and government institutions .

Ashour announced his intention to work during the next legislative session to amend the budget law, including a text that addresses the issues of 315 contracts and daily wages, and to establish them on the permanent staff in accordance with the laws in force.
