The Engineers Syndicate elections in Nineveh are witnessing a tense atmosphere with the escalation of competition between the candidate lists. Informed sources revealed the existence of three main lists, one of which is directly supported by party entities, while the second list includes figures affiliated with the parties and claims independence, while the third list raises the slogan of complete independence.

The sources added that more than 500 candidates are competing for 191 seats in the union’s conference, raising concerns that the union is being exploited for political purposes ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections. The elections are scheduled to start next Saturday.
