The Popular Mobilization Forces announced, today , Monday, the implementation of a security operation to secure the border with Syria .
He said in a statement: A force from the Commando Regiment of the 30th Brigade within the Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces carried out a security operation to secure the Iraqi border strip adjacent to Syria within the area of responsibility in Nineveh Governorate .
He added that the forces have begun a combing and inspection operation of the governorate’s border strip, to search for any terrorist presence and prevent any criminal infiltration that seeks to undermine the security of the borders or the region.
