The “decisive” meeting in the capital, Baghdad, led to the election of Ibrahim Al-Hafiz as Chairman of the Kirkuk Provincial Council and Rebwar Taha as Governor .
The meeting, which was held at the Al-Rashid Hotel in the capital, Baghdad, witnessed the absence of the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc and the Turkmen members, while three members of the Arab bloc were absent from the meeting .
Yesterday evening, Saturday, the capital, Baghdad, hosted a meeting described as decisive, to end the crisis in the administration of Kirkuk Governorate, by choosing a president for the provincial council and a governor, after a stumble that lasted more than eight months .
official source told that the meeting was held at the Al-Rashid Hotel within the Green Zone, in the presence of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Arabs, in addition to a representative of the Christians in the Kirkuk Provincial Council .
The source added that there is a preliminary agreement to choose “ Ribour Taha as governor, Ibrahim Al-Tamim as deputy governor, and Muhammad Al-Hafiz as president of the council .”
He pointed out that the members of the Kirkuk Provincial Council, representing the Arabs, had announced their boycott of the meeting held in Baghdad, before the decision was changed by Ibrahim Al-Hafiz, Raad Saleh, and Zahir Al-Asi, who joined the meeting table at the Al-Rashid Hotel.
