Dozens of families of victims of terrorism in Nineveh organized a protest yesterday , Saturday, in the western Tal al-Ruman area in the city of Mosul, to demand the provision of services .

The protesters called for improving their living conditions after receiving the lands from the state without providing the necessary infrastructure .

Speaking during the vigil, Umm Muhammad, the mother of one of the martyrs, said, “The government handed over lands in the open to the residents, and since then everyone has been living in great suffering due to the lack of water and electricity, in addition to the lack of paved roads .”

Umm Mohammed pointed out that “successive governments have repeatedly promised to open the roads, especially the road related to the earthen berm in the area, but they have not fulfilled their promises so far .”

The families also demanded attention to the rights of the martyrs, which they described as “unjustified” in light of the circumstances in which they live, calling on the concerned authorities to “take serious steps to improve the situation in the region.”
