The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced yesterday , Wednesday, the resumption of Iraqi Airways’ direct flights between Baghdad International Airport and Rafic Hariri International Airport, noting that the national carrier will carry out two flights, the first scheduled and the second free, with more than 150 Lebanese citizens on board .
The media office of the Ministry of Transport explained in a statement that the re-operation of this line, which was suspended due to the security situation in Lebanon, came in coordination with the Ministry of Immigration to meet the needs of Iraqi guests from Lebanese citizens who wish to voluntarily return to their country .
The statement quoted the company’s management, represented by Dhu al-Fiqar Abdul Hussein, as saying that seven flights will be operated weekly between Baghdad and Beirut, and that the number of flights will be gradually doubled according to the volume of demand and assessment of circumstances.
