The people of Mosul are waiting for the completion of the reconstruction work on the Great Mosque of al-Nuri after the completion of work on the famous al-Hadba minaret. The people are looking forward to hearing the call to prayer from the mosque that has lived through the city’s history for the past eight centuries .

In this context, the director of the Mosul Heritage House Foundation, Ayoub Dhunun, explained the reason behind the construction of the mosque’s minaret in the slanted form it was in before it fell.

Dhanoon said that UNESCO conducted a survey of the opinion of Mosul residents who chose it to be tilted as it was, because the city’s name was associated with the name of Al-Hadba Minaret. He explained that the current tilt is different from the previous one, as in the past the tilt was not controlled, but the current one is controlled thanks to progress and development in the urban field.
