A security source in Nineveh Governorate reported that a shepherd was killed yesterday as a result of war remnants west of Mosul .
The source told Radio Mosul Time, “A 16-year-old boy working as a shepherd was killed by an explosive device left behind by ISIS.”
The source explained that the explosion “occurred between the villages of Al-Hussainiya and Sheikh Younis, west of Mosul, while the boy was herding sheep in the area.” The source added that the body “was transferred to the Forensic Medicine Department in Mosul to conduct the necessary tests.”
The incident is part of the ongoing security challenges caused by mines and explosive devices left behind by the organization in the liberated areas.
