A security source in Baghdad reported yesterday that a sixth suicide case had been recorded in the capital in less than 24 hours, while a security source in Kirkuk province reported yesterday evening that two civilians were killed in an armed attack southwest of Kirkuk .

The source in Baghdad said, “A young man born in 2008 committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope hanging from the ceiling of his room inside their home in the city of Kadhimiya .”

The source pointed out that “the reasons for the suicide are not yet known, while the security forces have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident .”

In addition, the source from Kirkuk Governorate said, “Unknown gunmen driving a new car attacked another new civilian car carrying two civilians on Sunday evening , near the village of Ali Al-Daham in the Tuz Khurmatu district (35 km south of Kirkuk), killing the civilians instantly .”

The source added that “a police force evacuated the two bodies to the forensic medicine department, opened an investigation into the incident, and began searching for the shooters who fled .”

For its part, Kirkuk Police Command announced in a statement that “after registering a number of complaints about the theft of motorcycles within the Azadi Crime Control Office sector affiliated with Kirkuk Police Command, a working team was formed to arrest the perpetrators .”

The statement added, “After following the surveillance cameras, it was found that a juvenile, aged (13) years, had stolen a (Stota) motorcycle from in front of the door of one of the mosques. During the investigation, he confessed to stealing (5) motorcycles, and he was arrested and referred to the Juvenile Police Station according to his job specialization .”

A security source reported that A girl (born in 2011) committed suicide in the Palestine Street area of the capital, Baghdad .

The source said that the girl burned herself using oil on the roof of her house .

According to a security source, a young man born in 2001 committed suicide by jumping from the top of the 14th of Ramadan Bridge into the Tigris River. A middle school student born in 2005 was also found hanged in his room in the Ghazaliya area .

In another incident, a young man born in 2006 attempted to commit suicide by burning himself with gasoline on Al-Jumhuriya Street, and he was transferred to the Medical City Hospital in critical condition .

Thus, the number of cases recorded in one day rose to six, including suicides and rescue attempts.
