Defense Minister Thabet Al-Abbasi announced the allocation of land in Bismayah to build a city for the ministry’s personnel, while he confirmed that the Iraqi army uniform will be changed .

Al-Abbasi said, “The Council of Ministers voted to approve the allocation of residential plots of land for members of the Ministry of Defense in all governorates, and the allocation of plots of land in Bismayah to build a city specifically for members of the ministry .”

He added, “The Ministry of Defense’s plan includes distributing plots of land to the ministry’s members, including officers and soldiers, in all governorates,” indicating that “the distribution includes the governorates of Basra, Nineveh, and Najaf after Baghdad .”

Al-Abbasi added, “The Ministry of Defense will lay the foundation stone for Kanoun City in the Taji area, with 15,000 homes for the leaders and officers of the Iraqi army .”

Al-Abbasi explained that “the ministry is working on changing the official uniform of the Iraqi army personnel starting from January 6th,” noting that “a contract has been signed with a private company to print IDs and badges for all ministry personnel and employees .”

Yesterday , Tuesday, the Council of Ministers decided , in fairness to the Ministry of Defense employees, to vote on allocating a plot of land in the Nahrawan area in Baghdad to be distributed among the Ministry of Defense employees, including officers, ranks, and employees, with the Ministry preparing the lands in the governorates to be distributed among the categories mentioned above.
