Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil discussed with the head of the Sunni Endowment Diwan, Mishaan Al-Khazraji, the files of the Sunni Endowment’s properties in Nineveh and the completion of construction work on the Great Mosque of Mosul.

Al-Dakhil said on the sidelines of his reception of the head of the Sunni Endowment Diwan in the Nineveh Governorate building that the meeting discussed allocating 400 job positions within Nineveh Governorate contracts for imams, preachers and residents. He pointed out that the meeting also discussed the issue of Sunni Endowment properties, their reconstruction, rehabilitation and re-exploitation, which amount to 1,700 properties.

Al-Dakhil stressed that the main file on the discussion table was resuming work on the Great Mosque of Mosul project by activating communication with all concerned parties in the capital, Baghdad.

For his part, the head of the Sunni Endowment Diwan, Mishaan Al-Khazraji, pledged to continue work soon on the Mosul Grand Mosque project on the left side of Mosul. Al-Khazraji said that the Sunni Endowment and Nineveh Governorate agreed to activate communications with the relevant authorities in Baghdad in order to expedite the continuation of work on the mosque, which is an important cultural and religious landmark and icon in the city of Mosul.
