The Iraqi Ministry of Planning announced the successful completion of the third and final phase of the field work for the general population and housing census in the country, which lasted about 20 days.

The ministry stated in a statement that all the census activities and stages witnessed great success, as they were implemented entirely electronically, indicating that the census began with the numbering and enumeration stage, followed by the population counting stage, and then the final stage, which included collecting detailed data on the demographic characteristics of the population.

She stressed that the government had succeeded in conducting the population census for the first time electronically, 37 years after the last comprehensive census in Iraq. The statement indicated that the basic results of the census would be announced next February, after the completion of the classification, tabulation and coding processes.
