Yesterday, Saturday , the Iraqi Minister of Transport, Abdul Razzaq Muhaibis, and the Governor of Nineveh, Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil, opened the Nineveh Station for transporting passengers, which is the largest and most modern in Iraq .

Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil said, “The Minister of Transport opened the Nineveh passenger transport station in the right side of Mosul in its new look and modern style after completing all implementation works .”

Al-Dakhil added that “the station is the first of its kind in Iraq,” explaining that it is built on an area of 25 thousand square meters, and includes restaurants, cafes, drivers’ rest houses, air-conditioned waiting rooms, and international transportation offices.

The Minister of Transport confirmed and pointed out that “the project consists of 4 parts, the first: contains a central building consisting of two buildings connected by a pedestrian bridge, the southern building consists of four floors with an area of 2800 m2 for each floor, while the northern one consists of three floors with an area of 1400 m2 for each floor .”

He added, “The second part consists of covered concrete bridges for parking small vehicles with an area of 12,000 m2, the third consists of ground areas for parking large vehicles (buses) with an area of 18,000 m2, in addition to two buildings for drivers to rest, and the last consists of green spaces with an area of 1,650 m2.”
