The Ministry of Interior announced that applications for the 71st session of the Police College will soon be open for males only .

The Ministry’s Volunteering Directorate stated in a statement that it “notes the imminent opening of applications for the (71st) session of the Police College (for males only) for graduates of the preparatory school for the current academic year (2023-2024), the first round exclusively in its branches (scientific, literary, industrial, commercial) for Baghdad residents.” And all governorates for the period from Sunday (7/28/2024) for a period of seven days .”

The Ministry invited those wishing to apply according to the following conditions :

First: Conditions and controls for submission :

He must be Iraqi by birth, of Iraqi parents by birth, and of non-foreign origin, based on the provisions of Article (12 /First) of the Police College Law No. (37) of 2000, as amended .

2 – He must have a preparatory school certificate in its branches (scientific – literary – industrial – commercial) based on Article (12 /Second) of the above law .

3 – His age is not less than (17 ) seventeen years and not more than (22) twenty-two and six months. Members of the Internal Security Forces may be accepted at an age not exceeding (25) twenty-five years. The age of the candidate for the course is calculated from the date on which applications for the course open. .

4 – His height must be (168 ) one hundred and sixty-eight centimeters or more, and the width of his chest should be (80) eighty centimeters or more, based on Article (12/Fourth) of the above law .

5 – The student must pass the physical fitness tests, medical examination, final interview, and prescribed tests (successfully ) based on Article (12/Fifth) of the above law .

6 – The student must be of good conduct and behavior and has not previously been convicted of a non-political felony, felony, or misdemeanor against honor, based on Article (12 /Sixth) of the above law .

7 – The student who is decided to be accepted into the college submits a written pledge with a certified guarantee to pay the amount determined by the Council in the event of his dismissal from it, and his acceptance is canceled if he does not submit the pledge within (15) days from the date of the announcement of acceptance, unless he presents a legitimate excuse that the Dean is convinced of .

8 – The accepted student pledges to work in all parts of the Republic of Iraq and all areas of the Ministry of Interior .

9 – Applicants with martyrs’ relatives must submit evidence supporting the martyrdom of their relatives from the Martyrs’ Foundation in accordance with the law of the aforementioned institution and from the Directorate of Martyrs and Wounded in the Ministry of Interior regarding the Ministry’s martyrs .

10 – Applicants who are children of officers continuing in service, retired officers, and members continuing in service must submit evidence that their father is an officer or member through their departments for those continuing in service and the Retirement Directorate for retirees .

11 – The acceptance rate should not be less than (70) seventy percent for the literary stream, (65) sixty-five percent for the scientific stream, and (80) eighty percent for the industrial and commercial stream and above .

12 – Iraqi students who hold a preparatory certificate (high school) from outside Iraq are accepted, provided that they are recognized by the Iraqi Ministry of Education .

Second: Adopting the population percentages for all governorates as received from the Ministry of Planning

Third: The admission criterion shall be according to the lowest educational averages for each category and according to the population percentages of each governorate .

Fourth: The electronic form is approved in the application process via the Ministry’s website, and the student is required to fill out the electronic form with the required information .
