Nineveh Governorate complained about the difficulty of applying for the Hajj and Umrah lottery for the coming years due to the condition of applying for the presence of a unified card, while a representative for Nineveh Governorate confirmed that it had been approved to exclude them from this decision and to be satisfied with the civil status ID .

Applicants from Mosul for the Hajj and Umrah Authority’s lottery said that they face “the complications of applying for the Hajj lottery for the coming years due to the presence of a unified national card requirement .”

Ahmed Al-Sabaawi (60 years old), who visits the National Card Department in Nineveh, said, “The momentum that has occurred in the unified card as a department since the years after liberation has not enabled us to obtain this card, and that the instructions of the Hajj and Umrah Authority confirm the presence of the card as a condition for submission.” “.

The Hajj and Umrah Authority had announced the opening of applications in Nineveh Governorate for Hajj for the next three years and put an end to some of the required documents , including the unified card .

For his part, Representative Jamil Al-Hadidi confirmed that coordination led to relying on the civil status ID as an alternative to applying .

Al-Hadidi said, “Coordination between the Ministry of Interior and the Hajj Authority in Baghdad led to the acceptance of the civil status identity of applicants for Hajj who did not obtain the unified card in Nineveh due to the momentum that has occurred over the past years and up to the present day .”

Al-Hadidi added, “The relevant departments may be informed today or tomorrow that these procedures have been taken to accept the civil status identity to pass Hajj and Umrah transactions .”

Nineveh Governorate is witnessing great momentum in applying for the unified national card due to the years of displacement and ISIS’s control over Mosul, which delayed Nineveh keeping pace with the Iraqi governorates by granting the residents of the governorate the unified card identity.
