A mother and her daughter were killed and the son was seriously injured in a horrific traffic accident that occurred on the main road linking Bardarash district and Bashiqa district, north of Mosul .
A security source said that the accident occurred while the family was traveling together on the aforementioned road .
The source added that the competent authorities have begun investigating the circumstances of the accident.
