Yesterday , the Turkish company “77 Construction” announced that it had achieved 90% completion rates for the Mosul Airport works, while the Turkish “YDI” group confirmed that it will soon begin rehabilitating Ibn Sina Hospital in Mosul .

The Mosul Airport Project Manager at 77 Construction Company, Muhammad Sinan Turkan, told Anadolu Agency that they received the project in September 2022 and removed the rubble from the collapsed airport.

He added that most of the important buildings in the project, such as the cargo building, the stations building, the health building and the fire fighting building, have been completed by 85% to 90%.

He explained that they have started paving the internal roads surrounding the airport, and a large part of them have been completed. They are also following up on the electrical infrastructure and runway lighting works.

“We hope to hand over the airport to the people of Mosul as soon as possible,” Turkan stressed.

For his part, Mustafa Denizli, director of the Iraqi branch of the Turkish YDI Group, which is building Ibn Sina Hospital, said that they received the site from the ministry in January 2024 and the project design was completed.

He said that they will start construction very soon, noting that the actual duration of the project is 1200 days, but they plan to complete it in two years.

“The people of Mosul are in dire need of such a hospital. This hospital has 600 beds and a building area of 120,000 square meters,” he added.

“Visually, I think it will be the most beautiful hospital in Iraq,” he added.
