The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced, yesterday , Wednesday, the formation of a military cordon around an area that it said is under the control of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party in northern Iraq .
The ministry said in a post on the X platform that soldiers had cordoned off the Zab area controlled by the PKK, stressing its determination to “eliminate the PKK at its source through qualitative, rapid and continuous operations .”
Türkiye is carrying out operations against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which it says targets its forces and citizens, and is active in several countries in the region, including Syria, Iraq and Iran.
