Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat stressed that the development road is the best corridor in the world, pointing out his government’s readiness to help Iraq complete the strategic and important development road project for the region and the world .

A statement by the Iraqi Ministry of Transport stated: “The Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, met with the Turkish Minister of Trade, Omer Bolat, who visited Iraq at the head of a large delegation that included about 150 businessmen from the Exporters Council and the Contractors Union, and a number of media professionals; to discuss a number of partnership files between the two countries and ways to enhance joint work in various fields .”

The statement added that “Al-Saadawi welcomed the Turkish delegation at the beginning of the meeting,” noting the depth of relations between the two neighboring countries .

Al-Saadawi stressed – according to the statement – that “the development road project will pave the way for important strategic trade relations between Iraq and Turkey,” stressing “the Iraqi government’s keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation and coordinate joint work in various sectors, by developing the trade balance between the two countries .”

The statement continued, “Polat, for his part, stressed his country’s government’s keenness on the growing relations between the two countries,” noting, “Ankara’s desire to increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries .”

He pointed out that “Turkish companies have worked on multiple projects in Iraq,” noting that “the Turkish government is ready to help Iraq complete the strategic and important development road project for the region and the world, as it will be one of the best corridors in the world, as Ankara feels the special nature of this road .”

The statement concluded, “The Turkish delegation congratulated the Minister of Transport on the completion of the project of the first five berths of the Grand Faw Port,” stressing that “this port will serve the global transport map and enhance the economic development of Iraq and the countries of the region.”
