Basra police announced on Saturday the arrest of a network forging tickets to enter the Palm Trunk Stadium for the Iraq-Jordan football match that was held last Thursday .

It said in a statement today that while the fans were entering the Basra International Stadium to watch the match between the national team and its Jordanian counterpart, the Basra Police Command detachments were able to arrest a number of suspects in possession of 159 forged entry cards, in addition to sums of money .

She added, after investigating them, the accused stated that the owner of a tourism and travel company was responsible for selling these cards to them, given their responsibility for a fan club .

She pointed out that a security team was formed to lure the accused in cooperation with the company organizing the match, and arrest him along with other accused. During the investigations, the main accused confessed to forging and selling approximately 450 tickets.
