The Ministry of Water Resources announced yesterday , Monday, that it has begun preparing designs, studies and field surveys for the rehabilitation and development of the Khoser River in Nineveh Governorate .
The ministry said in a statement: “The first phase of the rehabilitation and development project of the Khoser River in Nineveh Governorate has been completed, which included removing more than half a million m3 of rubble, organic materials and sediments, in addition to covering the sides of the river with stones and rehabilitating its fence, in addition to constructing an earthen dam .”
He added, “The aim of rehabilitating and developing the project is to reduce the risks of floods that were an increasing threat to the city during the rainy seasons, in addition to preserving the city’s ecosystem, which enhances the sustainability of natural resources and gives beauty to the city of Mosul and the surrounding neighborhoods.”
