The Governor of Nineveh announced in a post on his official page that official work will be suspended for this Sunday.
The governor confirmed that the holiday will include primary and secondary school students only, while employees will continue to work as usual.
The local government explained the suspension of official work in line with the warnings issued by the Meteorological Department of the possibility of heavy rain showers with thunderstorms.

The Meteorological Authority said that the weather in Iraq today, Sunday, will be partly cloudy with light to moderate rain, which will be heavy in the northern region, with thunderstorms, while temperatures will drop slightly in those areas.
