Announced the President of the Northern Technical University The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research approved the establishment of a college for cybersecurity and artificial intelligence at the Northern Technical College in Mosul, as this college is considered the first of its kind at the level of Iraqi universities .
The President of the Northern Technical University, Alia Ali Al-Attar, said “The Minister of Education approved the establishment of the College of Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence in Mosul,” explaining that “this college is considered one of the important colleges and the first of its kind at the level of technical colleges, and it will contribute to supplying the governmental and non-governmental sectors with specialized cadres who contribute to managing the work of these sectors.” ” The mission .”
Al-Attar added, “UNESCO has shown great interest in supporting the establishment of new departments in Nineveh, and has contributed to providing cooperation with European universities to support and develop these departments .”
She also noted that “the organization also supported the opening of a department for preserving the architectural heritage and buildings in Nineveh, and supervised the coordination of work between the university and European universities .”
Al-Attar continued, “Among the important innovations is the establishment of the Health Technical Institute, which is an important step in preparing intermediate technical staff for the health sector, bringing the number of university formations to 9 colleges and 7 institutes .”
In Kirkuk Governorate, she confirmed that the university also created several new departments at the Kirkuk site, including the Medical Device Technology Engineering Department at the Kirkuk Engineering Technical College, and the Occupational Safety and Occupational Medicine Techniques Department at the Kirkuk Health and Medical Technical College .
She added that the Mechatronics Engineering Department was created at the Hawija Technical College, the Forensic Technologies Department at the Hawija Technical Institute, the Network and Computer Software Technologies Department at the Hawija Technical Institute, and the Financial and Banking Technologies Department at the Hawija Technical Institute. A new scientific branch was also created in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Department at the Kirkuk Engineering Technical College .
The Northern Technical University ( NTU ) includes eight specialized colleges and six technical institutes distributed in the northern region of Iraq, and grants technical diploma, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.
