The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced last Friday evening the suspension of all flights of its airlines to the Lebanese capital, Beirut .
The ministry’s statement said, “We inform all dear passengers that all Iraqi Airways flights to and from Beirut have been suspended until further notice, due to the deteriorating security situation in Lebanon .”
The statement added: “This decision comes within the framework of ensuring the safety of travelers and in line with the ongoing tensions and military operations taking place in the region .”
He pointed out that “the company will closely follow developments, and will announce any new updates regarding the resumption of flights in due course.”
