On Wednesday, the Iraqi Air Force carried out a series of airstrikes targeting ISIS hideouts in the Jabal Bur area, located in Kirkuk Governorate .

A security source said that the air strikes achieved their targets accurately, and resulted in the destruction of a number of hideouts used by the organization’s elements, which contributes to reducing security threats in the region .

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, announced the killing of the governor of Iraq in ISIS and (8) of the organization’s senior leaders in the Hamrin Mountains in Salah al-Din Governorate .

Al-Sudani wrote in a post on the “X” platform, “We confirm that there is no place for terrorists in Iraq, and we will pursue them to their hideouts and eliminate them, until the land of Iraq is cleansed of them and their sinful actions .”

For its part, the Joint Operations Command said in a statement that the operation was carried out “with technical support and exchange of accurate intelligence information by the international coalition forces at dawn today,” indicating that “(9) terrorists were killed, including the so-called criminal governor of Iraq, called (Jassim Al-Mazroui Abu Abdul Qader) and other leaders from the first line of ISIS, whose names and details will be announced later after conducting the accurate DNA examination process .”
