The Prime Minister’s Advisor for Yazidi Affairs, Khalaf Sinjari, confirmed that the start of the Sinjar Hospital project, the foundation stone of which was laid today, is an affirmation of the government’s seriousness in fulfilling its promises. Sinjari said, “Today, the foundation stone was laid for Sinjar General Hospital with a capacity of 100 beds, and it will be the first hospital to be implemented after the events of 2014,” indicating that “the district had only one hospital and was destroyed during the attack by ISIS terrorist gangs.” He stated that “the new hospital is one of the district’s most important projects and will provide health services to its people as well as contribute to creating job opportunities,” noting that “correspondences regarding the hospital were completed since 2011, but sufficient funds were not allocated until the current government.” He explained that “the Prime Minister announced during his visit to the district the inclusion of several projects, including two hospitals, the first is Sinjar Hospital with 100 beds and the second with a capacity of 50 beds, as well as other projects, including the Sinjar Rabia Baaj Al-Kabir Water Project, which is considered one of the most important strategic projects, and many other projects.” He stated that “laying the foundation stone for Sinjar Hospital is a message to the people that the government is serious about fulfilling its promises and ending the stumbling and accumulations that have continued for more than 10 years.” He explained that “the hospital project is a step in the right direction in the health sector and other sectors,” noting that “according to the Prime Minister’s directives, we are continuing to follow up on the files related to the judiciary and work on completing and providing services and everything that contributes to the return of life and compensating citizens and providing services to them in Sinjar.”
