The Federal Integrity Commission revealed the presence of fraud and violations in the renovation of a number of schools and a building in the General Directorates of Education and Agriculture of Nineveh Governorate, indicating that the amounts allocated exceeded one billion dinars .
The authority stated in a statement that “separate control operations were carried out by the staff of the Nineveh Investigation Directorate, which was transferred to the General Directorate of Nineveh Education, until the staff, after auditing, follow-up and review in the financial affairs department in the directorate, revealed the presence of tampering in the renovation of (13) schools .”
She added, “The amounts allocated for the restoration of the aforementioned schools amounted to (953,122,250) nine hundred and fifty-three million dinars, explaining that there was tampering with the receipts and offers submitted by offices and stores, noting that the original restoration transactions had been controlled .”
She continued, “The staff observed violations that accompanied the restoration process of the Zammar Agriculture Division building, for which an amount of (97,805,000) ninety-seven million dinars was allocated,” pointing out that the staff who moved to the governorate’s Agriculture Directorate indicated that the restoration process was completed, despite the existence of a technical report that the building was unfit. And recommending its removal, which led to intentional damage to public funds .”
She noted “organizing arrest reports and presenting them before the judge of the Nineveh Investigation Court, which is competent to look into integrity cases, who in turn decided to open criminal cases in accordance with the provisions of Articles (331 and 340) of the amended Penal Code No. (111 of 1969).
