The head of Nineveh Provincial Council, Ahmed Al-Hasoud, announced the launch of an initiative to plant trees in the city of Mosul on the twenty-fourth of this October.

Al-Hasoud said that the campaign launched by the council includes planting trees in the city of Mosul by increasing green areas, calling on residents, politicians and government agencies to participate in the campaign in order to increase green areas in Mosul.

Nineveh Provincial Council member Muhannad Najm Al-Jubouri confirmed that the council is determined to oblige Nineveh Province to adopt the conditions for adopting clean energy in state institutions. Al-Jubouri said that the council will take decisions regarding obligating the local government and the projects department to ensure that future projects take into account the issue of clean energy within the contracts concluded for the construction of schools and government buildings.

Nineveh Council member Saadoun Al-Shammari stressed the need to achieve justice and balance between regions in adopting clean energy projects and expanding green spaces. He explained that these projects are important for Nineveh, but consideration must be given to establishing them in a fair manner without discrimination between one region and another in Nineveh.
